President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held official talks and discussed expanding partnerships between the two countries in several areas. The two leaders emphasised the importance of developing green energy and expressed readiness to cooperate in this sector, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to SNG.Today.
The parties are set to promote cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, industry, healthcare, tourism, education and the banking and financial sector.
Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the initiative of the Trans-Afghan railway, which was supported by the Emir of Qatar. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for fostering political dialogue and strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed the prospects of cooperation in education, including student and teacher exchange programmes, as well as the development of tourist routes and the exchange of experience in this field.
