Authorities of Uzbekistan allocate 444 billion soums to support youth

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev heard the report on the work done to implement the youth policy in 2023 and the plans for 2024. It was reported that financial assistance worth 444 billion soums was rendered to 338,000 young people this year, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to Centralasia.news.

The funds were used to conclude student contracts and cover the costs of learning foreign languages and modern professions. Furthermore, unemployed young people received work tools to acquire new skills and find jobs.

The plans to develop a youth policy for the coming year were discussed at the meeting. It is planned to introduce a new approach to working with young people in each region of the country. The innovations will include the establishment of the Children’s Organisation of Uzbekistan that would contribute to developing the abilities, interests and talents in children of the Republic.

It is planned to increase the number of young people studying foreign languages to 1 million as part of the Ibrat Farzandlari Project in 2024. The efforts will be aimed at increasing the number of young readers under the Mutolaa Programme to 1.5 million. New infrastructure facilities will be built in the regions, and the conditions conducive to organising useful leisure activities and fostering the talents and abilities in young people will be created to implement these plans.
