On December 15, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon inaugurated the Central Hospital after major repairs and reconstruction in Vakhsh district, the press office of the President of the Republic reported.
The hospital in Vakhsh district is the largest healthcare institution in the district and Khatlon Region. It was refurbished and reconstructed as part of the Maternal and Child Health Care and Improvement of Emergency Medical Care Project in the districts of Khatlon Region. The project was financed by the Government of Tajikistan and its development partners.
Construction began in 2020, and contractors were expected to complete it by December 2023. They renovated three floors, basement and attic of the building and administrative and auxiliary buildings.
The Central Hospital in Vakhsh district is equipped with everything necessary to make a diagnosis and provide treatment to over 200,000 residents of the district.
