Jogorku Kenesh adopts 2024 draft budget of Kyrgyzstan

Jogorku Kenesh adopted the 2024 draft budget of Kyrgyzstan, which was approved in the second and third readings. The members of the Government led by Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov attended the readings, the press office of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan reports.

The budget revenues will total 378.4 billion soms, and the budget expenditures — 367.5 billion soms, which gives a budget surplus of 10.9 billion soms. The draft law will be submitted for signature to the President.

Parliamentarians adopted the amendments to the draft budget for the current year. The budget revenues have changed in 2023: now they are estimated at 352.8 billion soms. Kyrgyzstan’s budget deficit stands at 8 billion soms.

It was noted that the 2023 budget was amended to make adjustments and ensure effective budget management driven by ongoing socio-economic changes in the Republic.
