Uzbekistan to direct $246 million on construction of Olympic Village

The Uzbek authorities are set to direct $246 million on the construction of the Olympic Village that will host the 2025 Asian Youth Games. In accordance with the Decree of President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the construction project envisages using international practices, for example, China, Hungary, Morocco, France and Argentina, the press office of the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.

It is planned to use the Olympic Village not only during the Asian Games. After the event, the complex will be effectively used for other purposes, such as local sports competitions and training sessions. A special directorate responsible for the maintenance and operation of sports facilities of the Olympic Village will be set up.

The total area of the sports complex will be 100 hectares. The project is implemented by the Uzbek side jointly with China CAMC Engineering.
