Serdar Berdimuhamedov discusses bilateral cooperation with Vice President of Turkey

On December 6, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz. The interlocutors discussed the prospects for expanding and strengthening bilateral partnerships, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

The parties called for the promotion of strategic and long-term interstate cooperation.

The President noted that Turkey ranks among the strategic trade and economic partners of Turkmenistan. He emphasised the existing ample opportunities for bolstering cooperation in the fuel and energy, transport, communications, agricultural and investment sectors.

Given the profound economic potential of the two countries, the work towards bringing interstate cooperation to a qualitatively new level needs to be stepped up, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised.

The parties discussed the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Turke Commission on economic cooperation and the Business Council aimed at strengthening and boosting effective cooperation in a wide range of areas.
