Foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Turkey discuss bilateral cooperation

On November 23, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan. The interlocutors discussed current aspects of Turkmenistan-Turkey cooperation, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

The ministers focused on the practical implementation of bilateral high-level agreements.

The foreign ministers emphasised that they would continue to regularly maintain political dialogue.

On October 25–26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid an official visit to Ankara and met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The parties highly evaluated the current level of political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The two leaders noted that Turkey currently occupies one of the leading positions in the external trade turnover of Turkmenistan.

The talks resulted in signing 13 documents in various fields.
