President of Kyrgyzstan takes part in session of CSTO Collective Security Council

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov took part in the session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Minsk. In his speech, Japarov emphasised the relevance of the agenda covering issues relating to the development of the Organization and the intensification of cooperation among Member States in maintaining peace and security, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

Japarov expressed concern about the current global geopolitical situation, in particular in the Middle East, and called on the parties to the conflict to stop violence and start peace talks. He emphasised the importance of concerting efforts of the international community in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in compliance with UN resolutions.

The President of Kyrgyzstan signed several documents on peacekeeping activities. These documents envisage updating the composition and deployment of peacekeeping forces of the CSTO Member States, which will make it possible to use more effectively the peacekeeping contingents in UN peacekeeping operations.
