It was noted that the United Kingdom is one of the main financial and business partners of Kazakhstan during a meeting of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev with Minister of State for Business and Trade of the United Kingdom Nusrat Ghani, the Telegram channel of Akorda reported.
Tokayev said currently over 550 British companies operate in Kazakhstan, including such major players as Shell and Ernst & Young. The President noted that Kazakhstan-UK trade increased by 60 percent, reaching $1.8 billion in 2022.
“We are interested in expanding our trade and investment relations with London. I am pleased to note that the British side is also interested in promoting comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan,” Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said.
Nusrat Ghani expressed gratitude to the President of Kazakhstan for extending hospitality and emphasised the importance of promoting bilateral relations by the United Kingdom.
