President of Turkmenistan proposes increasing purchase cotton and grain prices

On November 16, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to Arkadag City, where he reviewed the projects of the future building complex of the agricultural university and research institutes. A senior lecturer at Saparmurat Niyazov TAU Agajan Ataev shared the details of the President’s trip to the smart city in an interview with CentralAsia.news.

Ataev noted that Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Rector of the Agricultural University and the heads of the agricultural sector and agriculture, grain growing and cotton growing research institutes during the trip. The President noted that improving national agricultural traditions opens up wide opportunities to fruitfully work towards the science-based development of the agricultural industry. The President emphasised the importance of preparing the proposals to increase purchase cotton and grain prices, which would create economic incentives for farmers. In his opinion, this is of particular importance for further enhancing the economic strength of Turkmenistan.

The expert emphasised that the construction of new modern buildings for the Agricultural University and grain growing, agriculture and cotton growing research institutes will contribute to the effective training of specialists and the dynamic development of the agro-industrial sector.

The expert added that large-scale reforms are taking place in all sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy today. Advanced technologies are introduced, and state-of-the-art equipment from world-renowned manufacturers is used in the agricultural sector. This aims to reduce intensive manual labour and boost production through mechanization and automation in agriculture.
