Uzbekistan will take part in the World Climate Summit this December. The event will take place in Dubai and be included in the programme of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Press Secretary of the President of the Republic Sherzod Asadov reported.
The forum will bring together the representatives of countries, international organisations and civil society. Its main aim is to develop measures to fight climate change and accelerate clean energy transitions.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev officially announced that Samarkand will host an international climate forum in 2024. This initiative was announced following the President’s visit to China to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. In his address, the President noted that this major event will contribute to searching the solutions to climate change.
