Centre for industrial cooperation to be built on Uzbek-Kazakh border

An agreement between the Government of Kazakhstan and the Government of Uzbekistan on the Regulations on the Central Asia International Centre for Industrial Cooperation was signed at the 16th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tashkent, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov and Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Arman Shakkaliev attended the signing ceremony. The main aim of the Central Asia International Centre is to create an enabling environment for bilateral cooperation. In the coming years they plan to build the Centre on the border between the two countries.

The main areas of activities are the optimisation of production processes and the improvement of the competitiveness of production facilities. This cooperation envisages effectively using the border areas where production facilities are located.

Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov on strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the logistics and industrial sectors.
