President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was awarded the Highest Order of the Turkic World at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States. The high award was presented on behalf of the leaders of the OTS Members, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
«I consider this award, first of all, a symbol of our close friendship and cooperation that we have raised to a new level relying on true ties of brotherhood,» Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
During the award ceremony, it was noted that Uzbekistan acceded to the Organization in 2019 and initiated more than 50 proposals to strengthen friendship and cooperation with Turkic states. During its chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States, the Republic of Uzbekistan held over 100 events and founded new mechanisms for interaction with international and regional organisations.
It was also noted that Uzbekistan is boosting relations with all members of the Organization, enhancing strategic partnerships and boosting trade and cooperation.
