President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron held talks in Astana. The Telegram channel of Akorda reports that the talks took place after a solemn ceremony, at which the two leaders introduced the delegations and exchanged greetings.
The leaders discussed the prospects for promoting strategic partnerships between the two countries. Tokayev noted the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation and urged to give it a new impetus. He said Macron’s visit is of historic importance, emphasising France’s key role in the European Union and its substantial investments in Kazakhstan’s economy.
The meeting focused on fostering political dialogue and expanding trade, economic, investment, energy, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian cooperation. They exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda.
After concluding the meeting, the two leaders continued talks in an expanded format with the delegations of the two countries.
