On October 28, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated citizens of the country on the Turkmen Alabay Day. The President noted that Turkmen alabay dog breed is one of the oldest breeds, the treasure and national heritage of the Turkmen people, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.
The President emphasised that the country creates increasingly favourable conditions for improving the national art of dog breeding, the foundations of which were laid in ancient times. The Türkmen Alabaý Itleri International Association aims its activities at developing this industry, which has made it possible to intensify cooperation in this sphere with different countries and bring it to a higher level.
Berdimuhamedov emphasised that purebred Alabay dogs, nurtured by the ancestors over many centuries, that have become a value of universal significance, are considered the best of all dog breeds existing on earth. Turkmen alabay dog that has always been a close friend and companion of man has become the pride of the Turkmen people.
«Turkmen dog breeders are taking large-scale measures to preserve the purity of the Alabay breed — our national pride, increase the number of these dogs and make them famous worldwide. Our state will continue to pay special attention to promoting dog breeding, mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange of experience with other countries, establishing fruitful international partnerships and improving the working and living conditions of Turkmen dog breeders,» Serdar Berdimuhamedov assured.
