Turkmenistan and Turkey sign bilateral documents

On October 26, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. Following the summit, the parties signed the interstate documents, Turkmenistan: Golden Age reported.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed belief that his first official visit to Turkey will open up new prospects for assessing the current state of interstate relations and their progressive development in the future. The President of Turkmenistan emphasised the need to intensify partnerships in the trade, energy, transport and communications, industrial, agricultural, high-tech and business sectors.

The President focused on the feasibility of boosting mutually beneficial cooperation in the investment, gas chemical, agro-industrial, environmental, next generation technologies and tourism sectors as well. Furthermore, Berdimuhamedov proposed considering transit of Turkmen electricity to Turkey through third countries and invited Recep Tayyip Erdogan to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan at any convenient time.

Following the talks, the parties signed the interstate documents on trade, government administration, television and radio broadcasting, standardization, metrology, education, science, transport, culture, agriculture, meteorology, youth policy, sports, joint ventures and support for small and medium-sized businesses.
