Over 40,000 Russian citizens have come to Kazakhstan to work in six months

In the first six months of 2023, 40,895 Russian citizens crossed the border and entered the territory of Kazakhstan to work. The statistics are provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic, RIA Novosti reports.

In 2022, this figure stood at 63,000 people.

In the first half of the year, 1,778 people arrived from Armenia, 1,057 from Belarus and 8,374 from Kyrgyzstan.

As reported, citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union mainly work in the priority sectors of Kazakstan’s economy and narrow-profile professions. These include industrial production managers and specialists in consulting, financial and insurance markets, Internet technologies and IT.

As for citizens of Kazakhstan searching for jobs abroad, in the first half of the year, 25,515 Kazakh citizens came to Russia, 1,203 Kazakh citizens to Kyrgyzstan, 154 Kazakh citizens to Armenia and 133 Kazakh citizens to Belarus to work.
