9 Russian-language schools to be built in Kyrgyzstan

The Federation Council approved the Federal Law On the ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on the terms of construction, establishment and operation of joint organisations of general education that provide education in the Russian language in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Telegram channel of the Committee on International Affairs of the State Duma reports.

The agreement was signed in Bishkek on March 29, 2023. In accordance with the agreements between the two countries, 9 secondary schools will be built in the Republic. They will operate in line with the requirements of the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan. Education will be provided in the Russian language, but children will be taught the Kyrgyz language as well.

Each school will have a design capacity of 1,224 places. School principals will be appointed by the RF Ministry of Education from among Russian citizens. Education will be provided free to children of Russian and Kyrgyz citizens residing in Kyrgyzstan.
