The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the 67th Regular Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which was held in the capital of Austria, Vienna on September 5-29. The representatives of Uzbekistan held talks with Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy Mikhail Chudakov as part of this event, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The parties agreed to hold an interregional seminar on advanced reactor technologies in Uzbekistan. The event, scheduled to take place in 2024, will bring together representatives from the countries of the region to discuss measures to promote nuclear energy. The seminar will be an important part of the International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles (INPRO) Programme.
The Uzbek delegation received an invitation to participate in the Second International Conference on Climate Change and the Role of Nuclear Power, which will be held in Vienna on October 9-13.
