Turkmenistan and Pakistan will soon sign agreements on TAPI and TAP projects

On the sidelines of the international oil and gas conference and exhibition ADIPEC 2023, the delegation of Turkmenistan met with the Caretaker Minister for Energy, Power and Petroleum of Pakistan Muhammad Ali. They discussed the signing of agreements on the TAPI gas pipeline and TAP power transmission line projects. This was reported by Orient news agency.

The Pakistani representative thanked the president of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for promoting the projects. He stressed that the government of Pakistan is ready to take the necessary steps to speed up construction. The official expressed confidence that the agreements will be signed soon.

In June, the head of the «Turkmengas» state concern Maksat Babayev and the Minister of State for Petroleum Musadik Malik signed a joint plan for the implementation of the TAPI project. The document provides for accelerating the construction of the gas pipeline.

In July, the Special Investment Facilitation Council of Pakistan included TAPI in its list of projects to attract investment from Arab states of the Persian Gulf.

In August, at a meeting with the Turkmen ambassador, Muhammad Ali stated that the host government agreement on the relevant project is expected to be concluded in October.
