President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a working meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres during his visit to the United States. The interlocutors discussed the progress of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The agenda also focused on the implementation of 140 joint projects in various fields, including economics, social sphere and ecology that vividly illustrates successful cooperation.
The Uzbek leader and the UN Secretary-General discussed the prospects for promoting bilateral cooperation to achieve the national objectives and the Sustainable Development Goals. The issues under discussion included the UN-supported reform programme of Uzbekistan. Antonio Guterres highly evaluated President Mirziyoyev’s speech at the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly.
