On September 15, the Uzbekistan-US Business Forum was held in Washington prior to the working visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States, the press office of the Government of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The guests of honour included Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, Chairperson of the Board of the US-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm and EXIM’s President and Chair of Board of Directors Reta Jo Lewis.
The main issues raised in the speeches included the promotion of bilateral trade and economic relations and cooperation between the governments and business companies of the two countries. The participants highlighted the importance of attracting investment and ramping up cooperation in various industries.
The discussions also focused on the promising areas of joint investment projects. Particular attention was paid to the energy, chemical, agricultural, electronics, IT and other industries.
