At a government meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on preparations for the participation of the delegation of the country in the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. New York will host high-level events on September 19-26. This was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan: Today».
The head of state will take part in the session and the meeting of leaders of Central Asian countries and the United States «C5+1». Serdar Berdimuhamedov will also hold talks with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
The president noted that Turkmenistan is ready to develop partnership with the United Nations in strengthening global peace and security, creating conditions for sustainable development.
At the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Ashgabat will propose to develop a Global Security Strategy, create a Conference on Security in Central Asia and Adjacent Zones, hold an international forum on food security, and establish an Institute of Neutrality and Security in Turkmenistan.
