Kazakhstan ready to increase supplies to Central Asian states

In 2022, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Central Asian states increased and reached $7.9 billion, Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov stated at the Economic Forum in Dushanbe. This is 25 percent above the last year’s figure, Sputnik reports.

Kuantyrov noted Kazakhstan’s potential to increase the supplies of finished and processed goods, including agricultural products, to the Central Asia states, particularly to the landlocked countries. He emphasised the importance of cooperation and joint efforts to promote economic diversification and boost trade, economic and investment ties.

The Minister also noted that geopolitical upheavals and the pandemic have ushered structural changes in the global economy and highlighted the important role of the digital economy and e-commerce. He expressed optimism about the future of the region, focusing on its potential.
