Turkmenistan and Pakistan to focus on energy partnership

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Islamabad Atajan Movlamov met with the caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. The officials underlined the need to focus on cooperation in the energy sector. The Pakistani government reported this on the social network.

The ambassador and the prime minister emphasized the importance of the early completion of energy projects. Atajan Movlamov noted his readiness to expand the scope of the partnership. The officials also discussed issues of interstate cooperation in trade and economy.

In August, the Turkmen diplomat met with the caretaker Minister for Energy, Power and Petroleum Mohammad Ali. They agreed to speed up the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline. Islamabad noted the significance of the project for the energy needs of Pakistan.

In June, the head of the state company «Turkmengaz» Maksat Babayev and foreign officials discussed the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line.
