On September 1, Knowledge Day, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon opened the new main building of Khatlon State Medical University in Dangara district, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
The administrative building of the University houses a central library, an electronic library, an assembly hall, a museum, departments, offices of heads of faculties and other auxiliary premises. The departments of general education, including the departments of foreign languages, social science, chemistry, medical biology, physics, computer science, pharmacology, microbiology and hygiene, are located on the 4th-6th floors.
President Emomali Rahmon inspected the conditions created in the new building and warmly congratulated lecturers and students on the commissioning of the modern building.
The main building occupies a total area of about 26,000 square metres and has 194 rooms for lecturers and staff members, 80 classrooms designed for more than 2,000 students and 12 lecture halls. The assembly hall can accommodate 1,100 people and is equipped to host meetings and events. The hall will be the venue for scientific, cultural and educational events.
