On August 29, the official opening ceremony of the Embassy of Palestine in the capital of Tajikistan took place. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Palestine attended the event. The heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Dushanbe took part in the ceremony, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
In his opening remarks, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin stressed that this event contributes to strengthening relations and establishing new ties between the two friendly countries.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine Riyadh al-Maliki expressed hope for the successfully work of the Embassy in Dushanbe. He stressed that it would contribute to promoting relations between the two countries and strengthening friendly ties.
Tajikistan and Palestine established diplomatic relations more than 30 years ago — in 1992. Until now, however, the Embassy did not have its own building in Dushanbe, and the residence was located in Tashkent.
