On August 28, the unveiling ceremony of a monument to the prominent Kyrgyz manaschi Sayakbay Karalayev took place in Lakitelek village in Hungary. The monument was built on the territory of the Lakitelek Folk Centre, the Telegram channel Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.
The high-ranking guests, including the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, public figures, politicians, representatives of business circles and friends of Kyrgyzstan attended the event.
State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov delivered a welcoming speech at the unveiling ceremony. He noted that this event is of great importance for the Kyrgyz people.
The programme also included a festive concert involving folk artists from Kyrgyzstan, including manaschi, dastanchi and komuz players. The guests had an opportunity to learn about Kyrgyz culture.
