Rahmon and Tokayev launch Days of Tajik Culture in Kazakhstan

Last week, the leaders of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and Emomali Rahmon launched the Days of Tajik Culture in Kazakhstan. This event marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Telegram channel Akorda reports.

The programme of the Days of Tajik Culture included a folk craft and art exhibition, which was arranged at the Astana Opera Theatre in the capital of the Republic. It featured more than 200 exhibits, including dishware, weapons and jewellery. Visitors could see carpets, national costumes and headdresses. There were also the paintings by Tajik artists and the photographs of the sights of Tajikistan at the exhibition.

After the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the two leaders watched a gala concert. The famous dance groups and singers from Tajikistan, including Amirjon Ruzi, Sharofat Usmonzoda and Sitorai Karomatullo, performed in the concert.

The Days of Tajik Culture in Kazakhstan took place from 23 to 26 August. Guests could also watch the legendary film “Rustam and Sukhrob”, recognised as a film classic.
