On August 24, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine Riyadh al-Maliki. The officials outlined the priority areas of interstate cooperation. This was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan: Today».
The foreign minister noted that he was glad to visit Ashgabat again. He conveyed an invitation to the chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty to visit Palestine from the president Mahmoud Abbas. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked the diplomat for the offer.
The officials stressed the importance of establishing direct contacts between businessmen of the countries. They also noted the prospect of strengthening relations in the petrochemical, textile, agricultural, processing, food industries, as well as in the field of digital technologies. The parties emphasized the importance of organizing the Days of Culture and meetings of scientists.
Riyadh al-Maliki also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. Ashgabat offered to hold a business council with the participation of representatives of the private and public sectors.
