On August 22, the Coordinating Council on the Sanitary Protection of Territories of the CIS Member States held an extraordinary meeting via videoconference. The meeting brought together representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee, the press office of Rospotrebnadzor reported.
The meeting focused on the fight against plague and other dangerous diseases in the territories of the CIS Member States. Russia continues to implement a programme of assistance to the CIS Member States in achieving epidemiological well-being. The programme envisages training specialists, conducting joint exercises and supplying medicines and other necessary medicaments and tools to the CIS Member States.
The parties considered updating the Regulations on the Coordinating Council and developing methodological recommendations «Sanitary protection of the territories of the CIS Member States». The work is underway to update the list of sanitation and epidemiological specialists and organisations. The participants emphasised the importance of working together in the zone of sanitary and epidemiological emergencies.
