Leaders of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan approve 15 new bilateral agreements

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an agreement on the establishment of the Supreme Interstate Council. 15 high-level documents were adopted during the visit of Mirziyoyev to Baku, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentraAsia.news.

The parties signed the document on the development of a roadmap to deepen multifaceted strategic partnerships in 2023-2024 and an agreement on further cooperation in energy, youth policy and sports. A roadmap to promote media cooperation was approved.

The parties made amendments and additions to the agreement on visa-free travel, which will help simplify the procedure for visa-free entry and exit between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. The parties also agreed to introduce the E-permit system to automate the process of issuing permits in the field of culture, family and child protection and food safety. The parties signed memoranda of cooperation between the Secretariats of the Security Council and on cybersecurity.
