On August 21, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received U.S. Senator Gary Peters, who arrived in the Republic for a working visit. The interlocutors considered expanding political and economic partnerships between the two countries, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Japarov emphasised that Kyrgyzstan and the United States are developing working relations. He noted the need to work on both sides towards strengthening mutual understanding. The President of Kyrgyzstan expressed hope that security, democracy and economic development would be placed at the centre of interaction and called for concrete actions in this regard.
Senator Peters expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic for the warm welcome and an opportunity to discuss aspects of bilateral relations and cooperation. He said this was his first visit to Kyrgyzstan and expressed his interest in promoting relations and building strong friendship between the two countries.
