On August 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the new head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kaha Imnadze. They commended the current level of cooperation and expressed confidence in its further development. This was reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan: Today».
The parties noted that Central Asia is one of the strategic regions of the planet. Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kaha Imnadze stressed that UNRCCA had carried out effective work to create new partnership formats.
The head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia thanked the Turkmen side for its support. He noted that Ashgabat contributed to strengthening global peace, mutual understanding and trust.
Kaha Imnadze also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. The head of UNRCCA commended the initiatives of Ashgabat, which will be presented on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. The parties also underlined the success of the projects «Preventive Diplomacy Academy» and the Dialogue of Women in Central Asia.
