Construction of new power plant in Jizzakh Region starts

President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a working meeting with the representatives of Turkish Cengiz Holding, headed by Mehmet Cengiz, in Uzbekistan. The talks focused on the start of construction of a new power plant in Jizzakh Region, the press office of the President of the Republic reported to CentralAsia.news.

The parties discussed the prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation, touching upon two projects implemented in Uzbekistan jointly with Cengiz Holding. These are the modern power plants in Syrdarya and Tashkent Regions with the total capacity of 460 megawatts.

Cengiz Holding does not plan to stop there. The company intends to implement more projects in the Republic, the total cost of which will exceed $5 billion. These include roads and tunnels, geological exploration and development of promising mineral deposits. Cengiz Holding plans to manage public-private partnership energy infrastructure contracts.
