On July 31, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev led a meeting to discuss the progress of investment cooperation with Hungary, Japan and Azerbaijan. The projects and initiatives aimed at building up cooperation with these countries were discussed, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
The most notable outcome of the meeting was the announcement of a joint project with Hungary. The project envisages building a poultry cluster — an innovation centre specialising in poultry farming and related industries. It will provide an opportunity to boost agriculture, improve the economic situation and create new jobs.
The meeting focused on the implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijan. The plans provide for interaction in the energy, chemical, machine building and transport industries. This step will help expand economic opportunities of the two countries and create a conducive investment environment.
Uzbekistan will partner with Japan to implement a number of joint projects. The main attention will be paid to cooperation in the tourism, pharmaceutical, textile, healthcare and livestock sectors. This will allow attracting Japan’s investment and advanced technologies to various sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy.
