Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan Kurbon Khakimzoda reported on the measures taken to lower agricultural prices. He noted that the key initiatives include the extension of tax exemptions in the poultry, fish farming and beekeeping sectors, the Asia-PLUS reports.
The Ministry also provides for government procurement of agricultural products, reduction of electricity tariffs for industrial cold stores and regulation of the activities of intermediaries in agricultural trade.
The Ministry of Agriculture proposed to the Government to extend tax and customs exemptions in the poultry, fish farming and beekeeping sectors. Kurbon Khakimzoda emphasised that the effective use of benefits in these sectors has led to an increase in the number of enterprises. These enterprises are exempt from income taxes, VAT and road user and real estate charges.
Along with the above measures, the Minister underscored the importance of supporting vulnerable agricultural farms, providing producers with quality seeds, protecting pastures and stimulating transportation of agricultural products. All these measures are aimed at reducing production costs and ensure affordability for the population.
