At a government meeting, Chairman of the Mejlis (Parliament) of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported to the president Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the modernization of legislation. She spoke about the development of draft legal acts and the strengthening of relations with foreign partners, as reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan: Today».
Gulmanova noted that members of the Mejlis develop drafts of a new Civil code and the law «On hydrometeorological activities.» The deputies take practical steps to expand interaction with the legislative bodies of other countries, diplomatic missions and international organizations.
The Mejlis, together with the Halk Maslakhaty, ministries, administrations of the regions and the capital of Turkmenistan, public organizations, is preparing to hold a meeting of the highest representative body of people’s power dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the independence of the country.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed Dunyagozel Gulmanova to improve legislation, taking into account the tasks set for the parliament.
