Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Singapore Begench Durdyev presented his credentials to the head of the republic Halimah Yacob. After the ceremony, they had a brief conversation about the further development of relations between the states. This was reported on the official page of the embassy on the social network.
First, Begench Durdyev conveyed the greetings to the leader of the republic from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Ambassador stressed that Turkmenistan is ready to take the necessary measures to expand cooperation with Singapore in the trade, economic, financial, medical, industrial, petrochemical, transport, logistics, construction, cultural and humanitarian fields. He also noted the relevance of strengthening ties in the IT industry.
In addition, the diplomat noted the expediency of establishing cooperation in the framework of the development of «smart» cities. According to him, Turkmenistan is actively implementing projects in this direction. He added that recently the opening ceremony of Arkadag, the first «smart» city, took place in Turkmenistan.
