Residents of houses crashed by avalanche in Tajikistan receive keys

The residents of Roshtkala district in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, affected by the natural disaster, received keys to new houses. In March 2022, Shod village was hit by an avalanche, which destroyed the houses of the village residents Zarrinsho and Noyobsho Kabirovs, the press office of the Government of Tajikistan reported.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon ordered new houses be built  

for the affected families and approved the place of a new settlement. The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic and the Pamir Energy company worked together with the executive bodies of the state authorities of the region and Roshtkala district to implement the project. Construction work began in March 2022, and the village residents received keys to new houses in July 2023.

Each house has a total area of 182 square metres, as well as utility rooms.

One of the village residents, labour veteran Davlatsho Jumakhonov noted that the houses are of high quality and comfortable to live in. 18 village residents were engaged to build the new houses. All of them received a decent payment for their work.
