United States imposes sanctions against four Kyrgyz companies

The U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions against four companies from Kyrgyzstan, Sputnik reports.

The reason for this decision is alleged cooperation with Russian companies. The Kyrgyz companies supplied sanctioned goods to the Russian Federation.

RM Design and Development LLC (RMDD), Progress Leader LLC, GTME Technologies CJSC and Cargoline LLC appeared on a sanctions list of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The list also includes the Russian companies, to which, according to the Department, the Kyrgyz firms supplied sanctioned goods.

As was reported, the White House was preparing economic measures to force Kyrgyzstan to halt the export of such goods to Russia. Details about the upcoming measures were not disclosed, but it is noted that they were preceded by several unsuccessful visits by American and European diplomats to Bishkek.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said the country is working to prevent the export of sanctioned goods to Russia. These could be the private companies that had unknowingly violated the rules.
