On July 8, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a meeting with the heads of the region following his working trip to Sughd Region. Speaking at the meeting, the President focused on the social and economic situation in the region, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
He noted that the current global situation, acute political and military conflicts in some countries and regions of the world, climate change and its severe effects are making life more difficult for the people of the planet, in particular threats to food security.
Given the global situation, the President emphasised the need to implement the strategic goals and the Action Plan of the Government of Tajikistan to mitigate the impact of possible threats to economic security of the country.
The heads and high-ranking officials of Sughd Region were instructed to prepare educational and healthcare institutions for the autumn-winter period of 2023-2024.
