President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev met with Foreign Minister of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan. The interlocutors noted that the two countries are closely cooperating and welcomed the opening of the Honorary Consulate of Switzerland in Almaty, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.
The President noted that Switzerland is one of the key political, trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan in Europe.
Currently, Switzerland is one of the 20 largest trading partners and the 3 largest investors in Kazakhstan with a total investment of $32.5 billion.
The interlocutors discussed the implementation of joint projects in various areas, including processing, trade and logistics, machine building, agriculture, financial services, digitalization and education.
The interlocutors considered topical issues on the international and regional agenda.
Tokayev conveyed his best wishes to President of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset.
