Construction of Asman eco-city in Kyrgyzstan starts

On June 30, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov launched the construction of Asman eco-city in Issyk-Kul Region. A film about the project was demonstrated, and the project investors made presentations at the solemn ceremony, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The investors of the new eco-city project are the companies from Turkey, India, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar specialising in the construction of cities of the future, IT industry and tourism promotion.

Asman City will be divided into 4 zones: smart, commercial, sports and entertainment. It will be designed for 500,000-700,000 inhabitants and built within 7-10 years. President Japarov emphasised that the project, similar to the projects in other countries such as Neom in Saudi Arabia and Masdar City in the United Arab Emirates, is aimed at boosting tourism and investment in Kyrgyzstan.

Japarov assured investors that Kyrgyzstan would protect and provide them with guarantees, emphasising that any illegal actions against investors would be punished severely. He expressed gratitude to all the partners and investors for deciding to participate in this project, which would serves an example to follow for other regions and contribute to nature conservation.

The event ended with the capsule laying ceremony on the construction site and a festive concert.
