Stone of gratitude to Kyrgyz people unveiled in Israel

A solemn unveiling ceremony of a stone of gratitude to the people of Kyrgyzstan who gave shelter to Jewish families during World War II took place in Israel. Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration Kudaibergen Bazarbayev took part in the ceremony, CentralAsia.news reports referring to the press office of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan.

In his speech, the Minister noted that two figures, who became the symbols of free will in Kyrgyzstan — Toktogon Altybasarova, who adopted 150 evacuated 16-year-old children and Esther Singer «whose name is associated with thousands of children who have found shelter on the Kyrgyz land.» Kudaibergen Bazarbaev emphasised that Esther’s memorial stone was unveiled in Sretenka village in Kyrgyzstan.

Minister Bazarbaev noted that well-being, freedom and the right to be raised in a family for all Kyrgyz children are priority values in the policy of President Sadyr Japarov.
