A magnificent event — a marriage ceremony on a boat took place to mark the 25th anniversary of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, the Astana Akimat reported on its official website.
Deputy Mayor of Astana Eset Baiken congratulated the newlyweds on the important event. He noted that it has become a tradition to hold wedding ceremonies on the boat on the City Day. The Deputy Mayor of Astana provided statistical dаta: over 200,000 couples have got married in Astana over 25 years. They have 420,000 children. Baiken emphasised that this number equals the city population. Astana can be called a young city, a place where dreams come true.
He also noted that over 100 social, cultural, entertainment, sporting and business events will take place to mark the 25th anniversary of the capital. It is also planned to open new social facilities, including a sports and recreation complex, a school for 1,200 children and a confectionery factory.
