On June 25, the Apricot Festival and the Dried Fruits of Tajikistan exhibition that marked the Tirgon Holiday were held in Dushanbe, Khovar reported.
The domestic fruit processing enterprises presented dozens of agricultural product items, including apricots, plums, cherries, peaches, apples, cereals, gourds and melons, at the exhibition. Citizens and guests of the capital city had an opportunity to buy these products at a lower price than in the market. The exhibition also featured the scientific achievements of Tajikistan’s agricultural sector.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the leaders of the Republic noted that the revival of the Tirgon holiday contributes to the growth in the industry and meets the interests of the people. President Emomali Rahmon called on farmers and gardeners to continue to work hard and improve work performance. This is especially important for apricot growers. Rahmon said Tajikistan is able to become the largest apricot producer among other countries.
