The opening of the first stage of the smart city Arkadag will soon take place in Turkmenistan. By order of the Turkmenavtoulaglary agency, electric vehicles manufactured by a large Chinese company JAC MOTORS were delivered to the country. This was reported by the electronic newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».
E-J7 electric cars will be used in Arkadag as a city taxi. The delivery was provided by Paýhas Merkezi company, which is the official distributor of JAC MOTORS in Turkmenistan. Five charging stations also arrived in the country along with the cars.
The average distance of an electric vehicle on one charge is 400 kilometers. The specified station can charge two cars at the same time.
Arkadag is the first «smart» city in Turkmenistan. It joined the project «Sustainable, resilient, climate-smart and innovative solutions in urban development in the OSCE region». It is also the only settlement in the Central Asian state that will use electric-powered public transport.
