Kazakhstan to increase kindergarten teachers’ salaries by 30%

On June 23, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Minister of Education Gani Beisembaev. The President was informed about the measures taken to develop preschool, secondary, technical and vocational education in the country, the press office of the President of Kazakhstan reports.

The President was informed that preschool teachers’ salaries will be increased by 30% in September this year. It is planned to create 81,000 new kindergarten places by the end of the year. Free meals will be provided to 98,000 children from socially vulnerable groups of the population.

Reporting on the measures being taken to improve the teacher certification procedure, Beisembaev noted that professional competencies of teachers will be assessed by their subject knowledge and their performance by the academic achievements of their students.

As was reported, 27.8 billion tenge was allocated from the Republican Budget for the project aimed at improving living conditions and raising the social status and prestige of the profession of a kindergarten teacher in Kazakhstan. The project completion date is September 1, 2023.
