On June 21, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met with Chair of the Eastern and Central European and Central Asian Commission on Drug Policy (ECECACD) Aleksander Kwaśniewski. The interlocutors exchanged views on further cooperation to counter illicit drug trafficking, the press office of the Cabinet of Ministers reported to CentralAsia.news.
Zhaparov informed the interlocutor that Kyrgyzstan is conducting a balanced drug abuse control activities, based on the international obligations and the national strategic documents, including the Anti-Drug Programme of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Action Plan.
Kwasniewski noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is taking effective measures to reduce the demand for and illegal supply of illicit drugs and mitigate the negative impact of narcotic drug use.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to build up mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
